Mission and Mobilization

(If you need assistance—financial or otherwise—please click here to fill out an application for assistance).

In Mark 10:45, Jesus says, "...even the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve...", and we take this to heart by partnering with local organizations in serving people in need in our community, by supporting missionaries in their work domestically (e.g., college campus ministries) and globally (e.g., overseas missionaries working on Bible translation, etc.), by sending teams to serve "the least of these" in impoverished parts of the world, and by serving one another and meeting needs within our church family.

  • Ways you can help during the covid-19 pandemic

We're staying at home, we aren't meeting physically at the church building--what can we do to serve others during the coronavirus pandemic? Plenty! Click here for ideas and opportunities.

  • Our missionaries

Our church supports several denominational missionaries in various places around the world. We can also support them through prayer, and by helping them stay connected to our congregation through email and social media (yes, the Internet does reach the remote hills of the Philippines), and in a variety of other ways.

  • Short-term mission trips

From time to time we organize week-long mission trips to other countries--primarily construction teams, but occasionally we send a medical team. In recent years our focus has been primarily on Haiti, but in previous years we sent teams to Peru and to the Dominican Republic. We are planning a domestic mission trip to Jackson, Kentucky in August 2020.

  • Community partners

One of the most important ways that we show how much we "love where we live" is by partnering with several important community service organizations. Rather than reinvent the wheel by coming up with a ministry of our own, we choose to identify existing organizations that are doing excellent work and come alongside them with both financial support and volunteers. Our community partners include (click the links for details and volunteer opportunities):
